Sarah Franklin
Professor Sarah Franklin (Christ’s, Fellow 2011) is a Fellow of Christ's College, the Royal Anthropological Institute, and The Royal Society of Biology as well as a Smith College Alumnae and Medallist.

Her many accomplishments include directing the Reproductive Sociology Research Group, co-editing the Journal of Reproductive Biomedicine and Society, and chairing the Anne McLaren Trust.
Sarah has written and edited numerous books, articles, chapters and reports on reproductive and genetic technologies. She has designed and led several major research projects addressing the social and cultural dimensions of new reproductive and genetic technologies with funding from the Wenner Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, The Wellcome Trust, the Leverhulme Trust, the European Commission, the UK Economic and Social Research Council the British Academy, the Philomathia Foundation, and the UK Medical Research Council.

All Cambridge University LGBT+ students, staff and alumni owe a debt of gratitude to Sarah for her queer scholarship, activism and research. In particular, she was the driving force behind the lgbtQ+​@cam project, launched by the Department of Sociology in 2018 to promote research, outreach and network building related to queer, trans and sexuality studies at the University of Cambridge.
