Henrietta Morrison
Henrietta Morrison (Newnham, 1987) is an entrepreneur, and one of the reasons that many LGBT+ people are happy to be called queer.

Henrietta launched Queercompany in 2000, an online portal for the gay community. In doing so, she helped re-appropriate the word queer for the LGBT+ community.
Queercompany was launched with an ad campaign that was made famous by numerous complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority. Published widely in press worldwide, the campaign was seen as unbelievably risqué! (Judge for yourself - the central image from the campaign is below.) It was an important moment in queer culture as it brought same sex images out into the open in an everyday way that was stylish and relevant.
Henrietta has set up and run a number of businesses: magazines (she launched Fable, which Conde Nast referred to as Vogue for the gay community), diversity events, teddy bear shops and other retail stores. Her most recent business, Lily’s Kitchen Proper Food for Pets, was sold to Nestle in April 2020. She has won several awards, including EY Entrepreneur of the Year, has judged a number of entrepreneur competitions, and been awarded a Royal Warrant.
More recently Henrietta has set up a foundation focusing on women and education. She is currently involved with Alsama, a refugee camp in Beirut focusing on setting up schools for teenagers in camps all over Lebanon. Henrietta also mentors new entrepreneurs.
