Alex Schultz
Alex Schultz (Magdalene, 2000) is Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Analytics for Meta, leading consumer marketing and product analytics globally.
Notably, in 2021, Alex and his team led the company's rebrand from Facebook to Meta. He is also on the Board of Directors for Lindblad Expeditions and is an Honorary Fellow of Magdalene College.
Alex was part of the first wave of those being openly gay in the tech industry. When he started at eBay following graduation, being gay was considered so career limiting that he was actively discouraged from being out. Alex is proud to be openly gay and is an active role model showing others that it is possible to get to the top of your field and be out.

For eight years, Alex was the executive sponsor of Meta’s LGBT+ Employee Resource Group, and helped advance LGBT+ community-based product initiatives, including the addition of same-sex marriage and custom gender to Facebook as well as the rainbow-filter profile picture tool.

Although time and distance have separated many of us from our undergraduate days, Alex never lost his connection to Cambridge and has continued to give support across all aspects of university life, from hosting alumni events, to providing funding to improve access and outreach and ensure that teaching, facilities and the student experience remain of the highest quality. He has been admitted to the University of Cambridge Guild of Benefactors in honour of his outstanding philanthropic contributions.

As well as his enduring patronage of the University, Alex has been a long term volunteer and financial supporter of both the Prince's Trust and the Terrence Higgins Trust as well as funding bursaries to Ukrainian students.
